The monument at the Lielauce Church was unveiled in 1934 to commemorate the Battle of Lielauce, which took place in 1919 between the Cēsis Company of Officers of Kalpaks on one side and soldiers of the 2nd Riflemen Regiment. The monument, destroyed in the early 1950s, was restored during the Awakening.
