The German Pastor's Estate

The construction of the German Pastor's Estate dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. It consisted of a pastor's dwelling house and a large yard. Opposite the dwelling house, there was a house for servants, next to it - a granary with a cellar. A parkway and a driveway along the house led to a household complex, which in its turn consisted of a series of buildings - a cattle-shed and a stable, a large granary, a pigsty and a hen-coop. The household comlex was supplemented with a threshing barn, a cart-house and a barn.
 
From 1867 until 1905 August Bielenstein (1826 - 1907), pastor of German Parish and an outstanding researcher of the Latvian language and etnography lived in  the Pastor's Estate. Due to his determination and energy, a park was arranged here with plantations of various trees, which were brought in not only from the nearest neighbourhood, but also from far-away places.
 
From the ancient German Parish Pastor's Estate the wooden dwelling house, the rubble stone barn, the granary (in the 30s of the 20th century rebuilt to a dwelling house), the rebuilt servants' house and the park have survived till nowadays. A pond adds to the scenery of the park.
 
The construction of the German Pastor's Estate and its park are listed as architectural monuments of local significance. Currently Manor seen only from the outside.
