Single childbirth allowance is granted to provide material support to meet the needs of a newborn child.
Childbirth allowance can be received from the municipality where the person has been declared for at least a certain period of time and if the relevant municipality has adopted binding regulations on the granting of such an allowance. The amount of the benefit and the conditions for receiving it are determined by each municipality in its binding regulations.
